VTE disease Need To Be Concern
Venous thromboembolism VTE is a common vascular disease with vague symptoms that are usually not realized. Venous thromboembolism marked by a blood clot (thrombus) or a blood clot that floated and joined the bloodstream (embolus) in the veins and cause blockage of blood flow. VTE is a disease that needs to be addressed as a result of fatal and requires no small cost in maintenance.
VTE is associated with deep venous thrombosis (deep vein thrombisis / DVT) is the occurrence of blood clots (thrombosis) in the deep venous system. Can occur in veins in the leg or legs up. Deep venous thrombosis can block blood flow in total or in part.
Venous embolism may involve the lung blood vessels and cause pulmonary embolism (pulmonary embolism / PE) and blocking blood flow. If the embolus clog, could be related to the blood vessels of lung.
VTE risk assessment Factors In
- Old age
- Operations, such as surgery, pregnancy
- Lack of movement
- Paralysis
- The tendency of blood to clot
- Broken Bones
VTE risk assessment
Based on Virchow triad, venous thrombosis occurs because of the slowing flow / static blood, damage to blood vessel walls, and the increased tendency of blood clots (hiperkoagubilitas). If any of these three factors not found (no), venous thrombosis did not occur.
In Europe, there is a blood clot in a vein causes more deaths than AIDS, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and accidents combined. In addition, fatal VTE risk assessment more than 500,000 people in Europe every year.
